CC2 unit 4: Q.#3

Up and At 'Em!
It did ran cat and dogs yesterday. We also get really windy here; some of my shingles are missing. I had to put out some buckets for a leaky roof. As I said, it rains so little that I know where to put them before it really starts to come down.
I like to watch The Investigators this early in the morning; this morning is an investigation on thallium poisoning. What a co-winkydink! I have seen it before, the neighbor that poisoned the people next door. He put it in their coke sitting on their back porch. The mom died, and the rest of the family took a very long time to recover. He started out by testing it on their dogs; they both died. This guy belonged to Mensa and was a chemist. Scary!
Question 4 is up. I think that this goes without saying the these sites blur lines of ownership. I have seen on Wikipedias site, at the begining, they will not publish original transcripts. It is an "opinion" site. That is why it is not considered reliable. People take from what was an original transcript and add there in-put or thoughts. I would think you would be hard pressed to find the original on a site like this. You will never know what you will get. As for the leagally owened, you can be sure that they have a entire "plagiarism law and loopholes to jump through" handbook so they cannot be sued.
Off to take my test for unit 4 then on to unit 5. Half way through already, wow!
Thank you,
Lara

CC2 unit 4; Q. # 3

Hi All,
Pearl Harbor Day! Hello WW2...
This is a weird morning in Havasu indeed. We are supposed to be getting a ton of rain. I do not know if you guys watch the Weather Chanel, but the whole South West coast is getting wet. That is common in So. Cal., but it rarely makes its way to my little world. If I can explain, Lake Havasu is the little indent on the left side of the AZ map. If you look at an AZ map, just about smack in the middle, left side, is an indent; that is Havasu. We are surrounded by mountains, and that is why we never get much weather here. It just kind of goes around us.
On to school now. When I read this question the very first thing that came to my mind was when the band Coldplay was accused of copyright infringements (plagiarism) of a Joe Satriani song he had written. I read a little bit about it, and Satriani is suing Coldplay for this. It is, as far as I can tell, still in the court system. I have heard both bands, and I think I would have to agree with Satriani. Especially because the lead singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin, actually said:
" We're definitely good, but I don't think you can say we're that original. I regard us as being incredibly good plagiarists" (Permalink, nd). The problem that this is causing is a "prove it" issue; there are only so many cords on a guitar. It is the who says I did not write this sort of argument. I bet if you hear the two you would agree with me; however, it will now be up to the courts.
Thank you,
Lara

CC2 unit 4 blog: Q. #2

Morning everyone,
I managed to get my dogs temperature down, YEA! Now the antibiotics that my mother-in-law gave me, Orbek, will start to kick in and get rid of Rodgers infection. It is the Amoxicillin for dogs. I was lucky she had some; I cannot afford to take him to the doctor. Wish me luck with him.
On to school. As for question number 2, I kind of talked about that already. The person who copied me in DB. Well, I knew the teacher saw that; however, if someone did that to a paper or anything else that I had written I would first of all talk to an authority, or person who I had given it to with my permission to read or print it. Then with this or these people and I would confront the plagiarist. I would not do it alone, because they could just say it was their work. Always make sure you date, if need be time stamp, your work. Prevention first is best; if you have to take care of something like this do it in an organized manner.
Thank you,
Lara

Good evening everyone,
I really have not had the time to answer a question today. My dog, Rodger, has pneumonia. I have been kind of busy with him today. We gave him a bath about three days ago, he is a big furry golden retriever, and the temperature dropped like thirty degrees! As far a s we can figure his undercoat was still wet and he caught a cold . My dogs are not outside dogs. They are part of my family; it is just that we are used to really warm weather. This is strange, the cold I mean.
You guys have a nice night; I will get back to the questions for blog in the manana, with my DB post.
Have you noticed that morning in Spanish would be banana in English if you replaced the m? Sleep on it. :-)...
Thank you,
Lara

unit 4 blog: # 1, CC2

Hi Gang,
I have decided since I try to post every day I will answer one of the four questions in blog posed to us this unit; each day I post to my blog.
The first question is about the importance of citing your work; it is the utmost. I cannot stress enough on the fact that you are NOT ALOUD to take some other persons thoughts, and use them as your own. You just cannot do that. The only people that could actually do that are completely lazy, and have no morals or ethics what so ever; there is no evidence of a conscious. Someone did that to me in one of the DB's that I had posted. They copied me almost verbatim because, I believe, they were running late for their post to be in on time. I did not call them on it because the teacher could see it. It was in the DISCUSSION board! If I remember correctly, she did say something to the student. Another time, a student copied and pasted straight from Google into the DB. This time I said flat out "Where did you get this information"? This student could not spell the word "the", and the post was in APA college format. I new it was a blatant act of plagiarism. The teacher called the student on it right off too. That made me mad. I am "earning" my degree, and this person is trying to slide by. Bad form!
I am now going to go work on school work, do some laundry, and make burgers for the BBQ tonight, and clean my fish tanks. I have three ...
Thank you very much,
Lara

Seminar 4

Good Morning,
I could not figure out what I was doing wrong in unit 3. I kept asking the teacher why my posts were not showing up? I did not sleep a wink last night, I new I would not when I saw that zero in grade book. I finally gave up, and got up at 3 am to figure out what I was doing wrong. I believe I have. I hope this will correct it!
Back to school now. We have seminar again tonight. I see that we will be talking about plagiarism this unit. I always try to give credit where credit is due. I do not want to take the credit for anything that is not my work. The one thing I do remember from CC1 is the fact that you do not have to cite common knowledge. That is why sometimes when we are doing an assignment on a paper that we are all reading for class, I do not cite it. We have all read the same thing. I ask the teacher if I need to; so far she has told me no, it is fine.
Well, I am going to study for class. See you tonight. :-)...
Thank you,
Lara

Hi Everyone!
I hope you have a great holiday. I will miss you all on Thursday, but you will be busy stuffing your faces anyway. Yummmmm! I hope you all have a safe one; especially if you have to travel. I am actually staying here and going to work on school. I am going to take advantage of the no seminar time off. I am also making a turkey on my BBQ. My oven broke. I am looking at it as a challenge. It will be fun!
I will see you next time around.
Thank you,
Lara

Hi Guys,
It is now 11- 28-'09. I think I am getting it, blogging.
I have been searching all day on my subject for the final. It is on poison, and you have to word it very specificly to get the right answer. I think I found some good info.
The school is okay I guess; it is just so broad. I cannot seem to get to the point in Academic Search Premier. I am not concerned about Thallium poisoning in a rat. I know the school want's you to use their library; however, I think they need to learn the dewy decimal system. It is to haphazzard. You search forEVER!
See you later,
Lara ;-)...

Hi Classmates,
Well, let's see; it is another day. I did answer my DB. I was not negelecting my post; I just wanted to make sure that I had the right information. Thallium poisoning information is quite a tall order; I have found out.
I am now on my way to making homemade mac and cheese on my BBQ. See you guys tomorrow!
Thank you,
Lara

Hi Everyone,
Oh my gosh! November 30, not even a month until Christmas. I bought a few presents for my son and my husband about a month ago. I other words, I bought some time to pay them back. We are kinda' broke; along with the rest of the country.
It is also my wedding aniversary, Dec. 25.
As far as school goes, I am learning somthing everyday from DB posts. If not from you guys, from looking up more information to answer you guys because I do not know! ;-)... I think it is called learning.
Well, back to school!
Thank you,
Lara

Howdy,
Well, another week done. Day one of December. My, how time just keeps on ticking along. You think, man when is this ever going to be done. Then you think when do we start; let's get this over with! I sure hope you all are doing okay so far in school. I am kind of getting overwhelmed. The longer I have been in school, the harder it gets! I think I need an IQ test.
Have a great night.

Hi Class,
I just received a zero for not posting in my blog; even though I post every day. I guess the school cannot find my post or something. I do not know how to make them appear in order. I have asked around, and knowone else seems to know including the teacher. She said so, to me.
I hope this gets corrected. I am very upset about this!! I hope this did not happen to you guys.
See you in class.
